Beyond the card

Abondance hosts a great many historical paintings. Among them is the Codex of Ancient Woes. The Kings who sealed the divinities are held responsible. Their action is a curse that contributed to the release of the Abyss. The event gave rise to a grim period called the Curse of the Kings. Today, we know they in fact played only a tragic role on a vast chessboard. This hateful painting was remade by the Mistress of Tints in disagreement with the artist. According to her, one must pay tribute to the forgotten heroes. The codex is an international topic of conversation.
